If the province of Carrara, universally known for its marble careers, is
especially attended for its sand beaches, its hotels, camping and night
clubs, it has in more of the mountainous zones (the Alps apuanes which
culminate at 2000 meters) from natural reserves, and a preserved hinterland.
The provinces of Pistoia and Prato offer changing landscapes of
plains and mountains, of pass to be climbed, forests of fir trees.
Pistoia is known for its tree nursery among largest of the world, its old churches, and its villas. Montecatini Term, with its incredible charm, is the most elegant of the Tuscan thermal spas.
Prato is with its many manufactures, the capital of the textile. It has also the largest (and most beautiful) contemporary museum
of Italy (Museo Luigi Pecci). Without forgetting Vinci, birthplace of the universal
genius which was Leonardo.
